Weekly Update 2

Terraplaneter

I love seeing clever iterations on simple everyday products. This inside-out planter will not only save us all from over/under watering our plants, it looks beautiful as well.

How to Change Your Mind

This book has been out for a while and I finished it some time ago. I wanted to mention it however as it continues to influence and frame the way I think about the world we live in. I know Michael Pollan’s writing isn’t to everyones liking, but I found this book highly enjoyable as well as thought provoking.

Bear Blog

For how little I actually blog, I sure spend a lot of time thinking about blogging tools. The latest app to pop up on my radar is Bear Blog, and it is indeed bare. It reminds me a little of txt.fyi in it’s simplicity, which is an aesthetic that I personally love. It’s great to see blogging initiatives like this springing up across the web along with the groundswell of folks talking about personal blogs again. I definitely miss the weird corners of the web that seem to have vanished with the rise of social media.

Roam Research

Another writing tool, but this one is much more personal. Although I have a few friends that swear by it, I’ve yet to work out how to make it a regular part of my life. I do really like the ‘second brain’ concept however and have been endeavouring to reduce the number of thoughts, tasks and ideas I carry around in my head.
